Approval and Allocation

After the assessment, if an upgrade is deemed necessary, the individual is placed in the national priority queue for home care. They will be notified by My Aged Care once a higher-level package becomes available for them. The waiting time for an upgrade can vary based on individual circumstances and availability of funds for the higher-level packages.

Reviewing Your Home Care Agreement

When an upgraded Home Care Package is assigned, it's important to review and adjust the Home Care Agreement. This agreement outlines the services to be provided, the fees, and any other terms and conditions related to the care arrangement.

The upgraded package should be tailored to meet the new level of care needs identified in the ACAT assessment. Care providers can assist in creating a new care plan that details the services and supports aligned with the upgraded package.
